“Since the invention of sliced bread”

– Why do we (as a society) assume sliced bread is a (metaphorically) superior evolution to pita bread? Personally I think anything with a pocket, ready to go -pack it in – stuff as you go – take lunch with you – is far more superior – at least more practical in its purist form than sliced bread could ever hope to be! 😳.

It would seem even the humblest of forms such as bread are not free from our ethnocentric judgements of cultural norms and practices.
